We now have three songs fully recorded and are recording a fourth song on monday the 18th by Riadhan O' Callaghan, a singer songwriter from Glenties.
My cover of Mr. Brightside and Paddy's Cover are almost mixed and ready for uploading. We also recruited the singer of the band 'Mojo Gogo' to perform an original of his very own called 'Saturdays' and have the song fully recorded and almost mixed and ready for upload. We feel that we are now going good in accordance to the planned schedule and are quite on top of things as this time next week we will have four finished songs for our channel. We also have a facebook page set up and running.
The equipment used was my Small home studio including an Alesis Firewire 16 desk, two alesis mkll monitors, macbook pro with Logic Pro Studio 9, Rode NT-1A Mic, AKG perception 170 Mic, Takamine acoustic guitar. For our next stage in the project we are recording Riadhan singing an original song on monday the 18th. After this is recorded we will then be focusing on mixing and finalising the songs, and creating appropriate videos for them and uploading them to our youtube channel !
On evaluating the recent steps taken in the project I believe I am getting more practiced at creating a nicer mix for acoustic songs. I have also tried several different miking techniques and found one that i found very effective for giving me huge control over the sound of the guitar as this was a difficulty i encountered on the first few attempts at different rhythm tracks.
